What is AboutFace?

AboutFace is a website made for people who want to learn more about PTSD, whether they think they may have it, or know someone who does. The site features basic information about PTSD and treatment, in addition to videos and stories from Veterans, who have experienced PTSD first-hand.

The Veterans on AboutFace, who span more than 6 decades of military experience, volunteered to share their stories to help you understand what it feels like to have PTSD and what PTSD treatment is like. Their advice is heartfelt—after all, they've been there.

In addition to the Veterans, partners, children and friends talk about what it's like to live with someone who has PTSD. Treatment providers (including social workers, psychologists and psychiatrists) explain what PTSD is, answer questions they've often been asked, and describe the treatments that get the best results.

AboutFace is helpful to anyone who's been through a trauma. The stories shared by the Veterans and family members may be similar to your own. And the treatments featured on the site work for any trauma that can lead to PTSD.
